These Terms govern your use of Tourneon. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Tourneon.
1. The service
Tourneon is a platform that helps padel players and clubs book courts, organise matches, track ratings, and run tournaments. We are a marketplace and technology provider; we do not own or operate the courts themselves.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU/UK).
- Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- Each person may hold one account; nicknames must be unique.
3. Bookings and payments
- When you book a court or join a match, you authorise the listed amount to be debited from your wallet or payment method.
- Cancellation and refund rules are set per club. Where the platform itself manages refunds (e.g., a match doesn't fill within one hour of start time), refunds are returned to your wallet automatically.
- Disputes about a booking should first be raised with the club; Tourneon may act as a neutral intermediary.
4. Clubs
- Club operators must have authority to list the courts they offer.
- Clubs are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, pricing, schedules, and the safety of their facilities.
- Payouts to clubs are subject to verification (banking details, identity) and the eligibility rules in the platform.
5. User content
You retain ownership of any content you upload (avatar, club banner/logo, blog posts). You grant Tourneon a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute that content as needed to run the service. You warrant that you have the right to upload it.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Cheat the rating system, manipulate match results, or impersonate another player.
- Upload illegal, infringing, harassing, or harmful content.
- Reverse-engineer the service, scrape it at scale, or interfere with its operation.
- Use Tourneon for any purpose that breaks applicable law.
7. Ratings
Player ratings (the 0–7 scale and the parallel Glicko-2 ranked rating) are calculated algorithmically from match outcomes. They are estimates intended for matchmaking and are not a personal evaluation. Tourneon may adjust ratings if we detect abuse.
8. Termination
- You may close your account at any time from Settings.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with notice where reasonable.
- Wallet balances at closure are refunded subject to verification, less any sums owing.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Padel is a physical activity — you participate at your own risk and are responsible for your own fitness, equipment, and conduct.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tourneon's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the service is limited to the amounts you paid to Tourneon in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be brought before the courts of competent jurisdiction in South Africa, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the change.
